About Kometka

Handmade with intention. Inspired by history. Designed for renewal.

Kometka is a slow-fashion studio based in San Francisco, founded by designer and maker Kat Inkenbrandt. Each piece is handmade from reclaimed vintage textiles — quilts, linens, and embroidered fabrics — transforming forgotten materials into one-of-a-kind wearable art.

My Story

Kometka began from a deep passion for sustainability — and a quiet rebellion against the culture of fast fashion.
Born from the desire to honor what already exists, Kometka began with the simple act of transforming forgotten fabrics into something new — giving them another chance to shine.
What began as a love for sewing and collecting vintage linens has grown into a slow-fashion studio devoted to renewal, creativity, and care. Each Kometka piece is handmade from reclaimed textiles — vintage quilts, tablecloths, pillowcases, and scraps — carrying the stories of the past into the present.

Like its name, Kometka (“a little comet” in Czech) embodies light, movement, and transformation — a reminder that beauty can reappear when we choose to create with intention.
Thanks for stopping by and supporting handmade slow fashion.
